What is this page?
I have a box above my wardrobe with many old things, among those things are old notebooks with old drawings, some more than a decade old. The earliests are from something like 2011 I suppose. I don't draw anymore and I only keep it because I would feel bad throwing them away, you know. But now I need to get rid of them, and many other things. I will probably just burn those notebooks or trash it, but it would be a shame if they just vanished forever and ceased to exist, so I will take pics of them and post it here and it will exist digitaly as long as Mr. Kyle keeps neocities running or the sun don't storm us.
I will kind of link them in a time line fashion, telling the history of those years or something.

Early Drawings [up to 2014]
Those are all from 2015 or before, I guess. Before that I was a kid that enjoyed drawing planes, but I don't have those. This early drawing era was the good times when I used to draw for fun and just that. I did not care if the final result was good or if someone else would aprove my drawings. I enjoyed drawing.
This is my oldest drawing, perhaps from 2011 or whatever:
Oldest Drawing
After this I started using notebooks, and I have four of them from this period. At this time I begun browsing on facebook and I was following several young artist pages. They were all better then me of course and I was inspired by them.
Being honest, I don't know for sure the order of those first four notebooks, I did note write dates on the drawings.
Notebook IV drawings are worse than the other first three. That had me thinking maybe notebook IV is actualy the first? But I don't think so. I guess my skills just dropped from the third to the fourth.
But before that, there is one drawing from this time that has a date:
My oldest dated drawing...
Now we can continue...
Notebook I
The first page has this
boring slenderman.
We also have
some anime eyes:
Now a fun thing. At this time I loved to draw those guys...
There are
plenty of them:
Even the cover of the notebook has one...
This one is special because I made a redraw of it in 2020.
And that is it for notebook I. There are a few more drawings, but you can see them in the all drawings section.
Notebook II
It's a cotinuation to the previous. The same stuff.
The first page is this guy with a crowsbow.
I realize that at this time I started drawing everything way too small. I had the entire sheet, but I only used like 5% of it.
I have been playing ddtank those days, so there is some ddtank stuff.
Those guys again...
Then some anime stuff.
I drew those lips and they are not so bad.
And lastly we have this winged girl.
Notebook III
This was arround early 2014. This was when I started watching anime and when I got interested in drawing anime as well.
Actualy I did not got interested in drawing anime because of anime. It was the other way arround, first I started drawing anime and then started watching anime. I started watching it because of drawing.
It starts very well, I really like those
two first pages:
You won't find those guys from before anymore, now I started drawing only anime girls.
Sometimes chibi like those two above. And here
there is more chibi stuff I guess.
You can see here
more anime girls.
And now the
weird cringe stuff...
Notebook IV
This one is kind of different. It was from latter 2014, maybe early 2015? Don't know.
It was when I was in high school and life started sucking. This time I started caring about the quality of my drawings and comparing myself with others. So I didn't draw for just fun, but also I wanted to make good drawings. That was when I stoped drawing regularily too. I did not even finished or coloured the drawings here, mostly are just sketches.
It starts not with a proper drawing, but with me trying to
understand manga anatomy...
Then we have
some messy sketches.
But there are some
coloured ones...
And this one is worth saving because it has my
old bedroom.
Those are my last two drawing from the period. One has a date and is a redraw from the 2013 drawing, the other I am not sure if it is from 2015.
Here they are.
I really like the second one, I remember that I was really proud when I drew it, I could not belive it was made by me.
And what happens in 2015? Not much. I lost interest in drawing. I could not find any drawings from latter 2015 or 2016. Those were some bad years and perhaps I did not had motivation. Really, I don't know. What I can say is that arroud 2014 I felt that my drawings sucked, so I tried to improve and it still sucked so I kind of give up and did not draw in 2015-16. I guess I probably drew something in this time, but not much and I did not keep any piece of that time.
Those were my early drawings. They are all ONE DECADE OLD - holy shit, I am old.
2017 Drawings
In 2017 I decided I was going to learn how to draw for good. So I started reading Betty Edwards and drew two self portraits, one before and other after the reading. They are from december 2017.
Here are they.
I can't remember if I finished the book, but I think I did not finish it in 2017 though.
But there also those drawings, I think they are from early 2017.
Notebook V
It's the last notebook, after that I just drew on regular A4 office paper.
Here are
all notebook V (2017-18) drawings in no particular order.
Well I give up again and stoped drawing... I could not find anything from 2019.
2020 & 2021 Drawings
But then in 2020 I came back drawing again.
Here is a redraw of an old drawing....
This was the first time I coloured something for years and also the last time I did to this day...
And here are
all my 2020-21 drawings...
And then... I gave up again. This time I started working and had no more time for art anymore.
Redraws [evolution]
And, for comparision,
redraws.
I copied this drawing from a textbook in school and used it to check my evolution in 2015 and 2017. Time flies...
And another redraw
here.
First one don't have a date, but it's from 2013-14, I guess.
Well, I wanted to learn how to draw like the brilliant artists I adimire, but truth is I was aways lazy and I never really commited myself too much to it. Drawing is hard to learn, it take time and effort, but I was to lazy to take it seriously.
It was not a great improvement for 10 years, but I can't complain for I was not willing to pay the price, that is, to draw for hours a day, draw everyday, study it seriously, et cetera. And I guess it is a pretty good evolution for someone lazy like me.
Currently I am not very interested in drawing as I was before, but maybe sometime in the future I will go back to drawing, who knows.
Now I can get rid of them with no regrets.
